About Mr. Tharaldson
I am from Goodridge, MN where I graduated from High School in 2006. While in school I participated in Basketball, Student Council, Peer Tutoring and German Club. I was also fortunate enough to travel all around Germany following graduation from high school.
I went to Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls for 1 year and graduated with an Associate degree in 2007. I transfered to Bemidji State University where I completed my degree in Science Education with an emphasis in Life Science in the Spring of 2009. While at BSU, I was a student ambassador, and worked in the admissions office. I completed my Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Science Ed and Online Teaching from Bemidji State in the Fall of 2013. I am currently obtaining my Environmental Education Teacher Certificate from Hamline University.
I did my student teaching at Red Lake County Central - Oklee, where I taught 7th - 10th grade science. I did two long-term sub jobs, one in Goodridge, and one in Thief River Falls. From there I interviewed at schools around the area before getting the job here at Newfolden. I am currently in my 6th year in Newfolden teaching 7th-8th grade science, College Prep Biology, Ecology and 7-8th grade Elective Science. Additionally I advise Robotics, and the 8th Grade Class trip to Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, most outdoor activities including hunting, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeling and spending time with family and friends.
